Kentake Chinyelu-Hope, Creative producer

Kentake Chinyelu-Hope, Creative producer

entaké Chinyelu-Hope is a pioneering cultural producer and Hip Hop activist.
She is the founder of Bamboo Sword, a Hip Hop production and development agency specialising in bespoke programming for festivals, venues and digital media.

Kentaké has worked collaboratively within the cultural sector for over 15 years, delivering strong creative leadership and youth focused insight to innovative and impactful campaigns.

In 1999, in a progression from youth and community work, Kentaké developed a model for what became the world’s first city-wide, cross art-form, sustained Hip Hop festival. The London Hip Hop Festival in 2000 and 2001 established a collective approach to profiling Hip Hop culture, achieving a ground breaking and inspirational event. This month long campaign is renowned as the first city wide Hip Hop festival in the world, influencing the development of Hip Hop festivals in other major cities.
